Preparatory Group Classes

KINDERMUSIK: For babies and young children (0 to 6 years old). All over the world, parents bond with their babies through musical sounds and rhythmic movement. They rock and swing their children, put them to sleep with lullabies, make them laugh with nursery rhymes.  Kindermusik curriculum is built on research of psychologists, neuroscientists, and experts in early childhood development have demonstrated that music helps children's brain cells make the connections needed for virtually every kind of intelligence. Kindermusik is a wonderful beginning and solid foundation for future music lessons. For current schedule of classes and pricing please go to

PIANO CLUB: We love to introduce piano to young children in the most fun and pleasant way! Musical adventures of the fascinating characters Beethoven Bear, Mozart Mouse, Clara Schumann Cat, Pachelbel Penguin and Nina Ballerina engage the students so they look forward to every class!  Using beautiful, colorful books and storytelling, we teach the children basic music reading skills, so they can start playing the songs they like right away!  Through music games and activities, they learn also the basic music theory and stay motivated and focused as they gradually progress.  If you would like your child to develop the balance between necessary discipline required for learning to play the piano and the right amount of fun and excitement, then this wonderful program is for you!

YOUNG STRINGS PLAYERS: Young String Players’ Class brings a fresh approach to a child’s first year on the violin or viola. Each piece of music used in class is to help to develop a new technical point in an atmosphere of fun and recreation. Taken as a whole, this collection of music, enhanced with supplementary material, is a realistic first year’s work for a group of five, six, seven of eight year olds, though older children or those having individual lessons will get through more quickly.

Most of the pieces used in this class have words, so children can first learn and enjoy the music by singing it. In this way the children get to know the tunes really well before playing the tunes on the violin. Some of the pieces can also be used as action songs and games, which encourages a sense of physical freedom and movement. Children find this fun, particularly as a group activity. This approach is welcomed by those who prefer to introduce music notation at a slightly later stage. This approach helps to overcome the initial barrier of reading music.

This curriculum is conceived primarily with violin or piano accompaniment. Many teachers like to teach with violin in hand and children love to play duets with their teacher. The optional keyboard accompaniment may be used when violin accompaniment is not practicable. Each piece used in this class includes some brief technical points. Dynamics are included in the student’s part - though at this stage of learning dynamics are not a top priority.
